From the first day, Muriel GAGGINI who came from Japan, made a presentation with slides on the history of writing. The audience was spellbound.This was the start of a  series of workshops on the occasion of this international meeting.

WORKSHOP BY MURIEL GAGGINI

 Maps and Calligraphy

Learn about the history of maps, the different types* and the symbols* used to design them. An exhibit of antique and contemporary maps displayed several kind of maps and how calligraphy can be used effectively. In this workshop the student were assigned to produce an artistic rendition of the map of Tokyo Bay. (*see illustrations below).


Other workshops offered by the Center's teachers: beginners's workshop, Gothic, Uncial, Hollandaise, Anglaise, Gestique etc.
